This week, I spent some time with my  good friend Rona, doing something we both enjoy, being out in the country taking pictures. Those of you who enjoy photography will know, this really is a pastime you spend on your own, or with a like minded crony.  We went to the CASS Sculpture Estate at Goodwood, which has been on our ‘to do’ list for some time. It started out as a glorious sunny day, which became progressively darker and colder.

Sadly, this meant we were unable to shoot as many of the works of art as we intended, as many are installed deep within the woods, and there was not sufficient light to take a decent shot. We also tried to approach our subjects from a less traditional view, and incorporate an ‘abstract’ perspective.  Rona and I really enjoyed ourselves and managed to take some great shots, despite getting very cold, and a bit muddy. Rona is great company, and has a good eye for composition. Not only did she tak some great shots of the art, she took a couple of shots of me which are extremely good, one of which I feature here. Here is a selection, if you want to see the rest then go and have a look at my Flickr account, and Rona’s too. Oh, and the quote of the day has to be, “I just like shiny things Lorrie“.

It really is, and sadly didn’t get to see a third of it due to Rona needing a wee, and the cold!

      Thanks for stopping by hun…

These are amazing photos – I love the abstract perspective. Any thoughts about turning them into paintings …?

I wish I was near enough to visit this place (though frankly I’d probably only last about 30 minutes before I needed a loo and or cake and coffee stop ha ha!)

Hmmnn…that’s an interesting idea. I may go back further into the summer and take some more shots in better, light.

I think the ‘Tongue in Cheek’ shot would be good subject matter yes.
