Due to catching my daughters cold and subsequently getting inflamed sinuses, I have been unable to paint this week so I decided to put to use the bench hook my husband made for me, and do some lino cutting. I have to say, despite that it’s been a long time since I last did it…it was brilliant, and it came back to me really quickly. I was coasting within minutes and cutting up a storm.
I adore those drawings. My 14-year old daughter has it in mind that she is going to be a tattoo artist, and I think your designs would translate perfectly into body art. “Flash”, it’s called, in tattoo-ing circles. I shall be sharing your blog with her…
Thanks Laura. I have in the past done quite a few tattoo designs, and in fact…did a thesis on tattooing at University.
~laughs~ Oh, I feel jolly silly now. LOL. Do you have any tattoos? I know nothing very much about the art, only that my first-born is obsessed and it is rubbing off on me, too. I hope to take her to the Bournemouth Tattoo Convention. Forgive my assumption that you didn’t know about flash!!
Don’t feel silly Laura. I know nothing about tattooing now. I did a thesis on it in 1982. I have no knowledge of the Tattooing culture as it stands now. I do have some tattoos. In fact, I had mine done over 25 years ago, when NO women had tattoos. I was considered very daring and avante guarde. Truth is, if I could get rid of them now, I would. They were great in my twenties, not so much in my fourties.
