Hanging paintings, exhibitions, batteries and panninis.

Against the Tide at the Oxmarket Centre of Arts: 'Turbulence'

Against the Tide at the Oxmarket Centre of Arts: 'Turbulence'

So, I got all my paintings hung thanks to my lovely and dear friend Nicola Humphries, who helped me enormously, hanging my work, putting up my cards,  and who bought me batteries when those in my camera died *smooch* and then bought me a cup of tea and a pannini.

My paintings should have gone up yesterday, but due to a glitch…didn’t (long story). Plus, my biggest painting was unfinished. So, I was up at the crack of dawn varnishing and printing my ‘Title’ cards. Feel utterly, totally and shatteringly exhausted. I had intended to produce more than the nine pieces on show, but children, school, holidays and other design commitments got in the way unfortunately. Now, I am spending the rest of day vegging on my sofa and watching ‘Buffy’. Here are some shots of some of the paintings (bit dark I know, was first thing this morning). I will blog the progress shots of my big painting tomorrow.

So, go see my stuff at the Oxmarket Centre of Arts…now.

Gosh, doesn’t everything look fabulous displayed on white walls like that – the colours and even the details totally POP. And OMG, I am madly in love with that huge piece at the top!!! *squeee* That’s just completely fabulous – well done Lolliepop! xxx

      Hey there lovely…

Doesn’t look too shabby does it. Quite pleased how it turned out, though was a bit of a rush job to be honest. Thanks for the big painting *squeee*. Luke likes this one too. If it doesn’t sell, it’s going up on my wall.

Don’t forget…coming to see you soon.

They look amazing Lorrie! I hate hanging paintings, I’m always convinced I’ll end up knocking a wall down or something, but yours look so professionally done! Loads of luck with the show hon, wish I was near enough to see it in person xx

Thanks Angie. I totallly agree, particularly in this case as people were virtually walking through the door. I was supposed to hang on Sunday, but when I got there at the pre-arranged time, the Gallery asistant was out to lunch!! LOL. So, it had to be done in the morning. If my friend Nicky hadn’t come to help, I don’t know how I would have got it all done.

      Thanks for dropping by xx

Your paintings are very lovely. They’re wonderfully detailed and organic. I love the flowing waves. Beautiful stuff.
