Spoonflower Fabric Designs

Spoonflower Fabric Designs

A few days ago I got my swatches from Spoonflower for some designs I wanted to make available to sale. I am quite pleased, apart from one not featured here (colours not right ) they have turned out quite well. Now, these illustrations were not originallyy created as textile designs, I just uploaded them as I wanted to see how they would look. But, I will be working on some designs soon specifically for fabric. Luke’s favourite is the top left design ‘Sea Inspired II’,  he states he wants a shirt made from this fabric.  So, here they are.

      Hi Nicola..

The fabric quality is fine, it’s quite thin, and would be suitable definitely for quilting and some projects, though not sure I would use it for dresses or blouses. I would probably go for the cotton linen/canvas. Here is a link to a description of the fabrics and their suitability. http://www.spoonflower.com/spoonflower_fabrics

      Cheers

      Hi there Jessica..

I have some more on order, the leaves. I am not sure these designs are entirely suitable for fabric products, though I intend to create some custom designs when I have Illustrator set up using my Wacom on my Imac.

You really should join Spoonflower Jess, your design style would work really well.

Ooooh, Alex. If you could remember that would be really cool. What would be even better, would for it to be Europe or UK based,

Anyway, thanks for the nice feedback peaches. x

          Cheers for that Alex…

They both look quite good and I shall be having a good read to decide which is best. I definitely am going to order some fabric from one of them. A lot cheaper than getting from the US.

Your art lends itself really well to fabric, these are great. Do post some photos if Luke gets a shirt made, that would be fab! I can see the sea-inspired fabric as a blind in a really funky bathroom! x

      Thank you Angie…

Luke may be a waiting a logn time for that shirt. It’s been a long time since I made a mans shirt, which surprisingly is very hard. But, now I have my new HUGE desk, I may get that sewing machine out! 😉
