So, now my shows and projects are done for the summer, I am taking a bit of a rest from painting for a couple of months to concentrate on illustrative work, new ideas, my online shops, and ‘gently’ persuading some local shops and galleries to show/sell my work.
I have also been working on some new web design ideas. I created a new theme for my personal site, Illusio.net based on early 60s’ graphic design. I personally love the art and design of the early 60’s. Clean, elegant and chic. Don’t get me wrong, I also love the hippy, Sergeant Pepper, psychedelia of the later 60s’, early 70s’. But, you can’t beat the early 60s’ for sheer elegance and style. No surprise that the 60’s graphic style of design is having a bit of a renaissance right now.
Anyway, here is a cap of my latest web layout. I love web design, even though I consider myself a ‘trad art’ girl. Web design for me is so immediate, and one of the few mediums where I seem to be able to realise my vision. A result rarely achieved in anything else I do creatively.
Anyway, back to illustration. Leaving the theme of the sea and oceans behind for a while, I plan to return/explore some much loved ideas and concepts based on 60’s design. So, saying no more than that, watch this space.

Ooh, I love that new look for your dot net! It looks ace :))
Thanks Maisy, I am must admit, I am quite pleased with it. Bit more eye catching than the last one.
