My second video blog I did today, chatting about books, inspiration, reference sources etc. Forgive me if I come across a bit glum…I had a head ache by the time I finished. Putting it down to the weather.
If you are interested in purchasing any original pieces, postcards and prints then please visit my ART SHOP.
I am a total sucker for books – I love them. If I had more money, I’d buy masses more. I have lots of great mixed media ones but really want to start looking at more source books… That leaves and pods one, and the colour source book look ace 🙂 Great vloggage. xx
Me too hun, but it’s not just a question of money anymore….but space also!!!
These books all look fabulous. I am going to check them out. I especially love the snowflakes one and I have seen it before.
Thanks for sharing some of your inspiration.
Hugs and blessings

My pleasure. The snowflakes one is lovely, definitely a good buy.
All the best…
Lorrie 🙂
Thanks for this video, Lorrie. I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of your inspirational books and in fact your video has shown me the gap in my own creative process. I’m a little bit ashamed to say that I have no such inspirational books in my possession! I have books on watercolour & drawing techniques but it’s clear to me now that I need to get some books just purely for the inspirational images, colours and beauty.
Thanks again!
Absolutely Stacey-Ann, in fact…I really can’t emphasise enough the importance of inspirational material, research, resources etc. I have very few ‘how to’ books, and in fact only bought a couple this year on mixed media for the first time in years.
I remember seeing Lawrence Llewellyn Bowens studio once on television, (the interior decorator). His walls were lined floor to ceiling with books, magazines etc. I also collect art postcards. I have a box full. I used to have hundreds, literally, that had been collected over a period of about 30 years, but sadly in my last house move, they dissapeared, so have had to start from scratch.
Cheers for dropping by.
Lorrie
