When I was putting together my slide show recently, I took some shots of an old sketchbook which contained work from the 90s. Mostly ink drawings and some pieces which had had to be pasted in from an even earlier sketchbook which fell apart. On review of older work recently, I was saddened at how little there is left. Hardly any of my college and University remains apart from a very few drawings, as my Grandmother threw everything away when she started to go senile because she needed the ‘space’. Very little is left from the 90s as I moved around a lot when I was living in London and when I first moved down to the coast. So, here is a small selection from one of my 90’s sketchbooks, thought they might be interesting to…well, someone!

These are fascinating and you can see how your present style developed out of these techniques. I really like the sketch of the tower 🙂
Thanks Clare…
I don’t seem to do the intensive cross hatching stuff so much these days, I guess because I have been doing less traditional illustration, though that’s something I am attempting to remedy. The Gotchic ones (and I have more unseen), were very typical of what I did in the early 90’s…circa ‘Sisters of Mercy’ etc. Hmmm…
Cheers hun..
