I know I don’t post much about my web design on here, not really sure why, perhaps because it’s more problematic and stress inducing sometimes that the simple business of creating art. Anyway, sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes you have a great client, sometimes you don’t. But, I had the privilege of building a website for the lovely Anna Stassen of Sakura Jewellery.
She wanted her site built using the WordPress platform with a bespoke/original theme. Now, I have built a lot of sites using WordPress, so was pretty confident I could get it done quickly. I have to say, it was the easiest and most enjoyable build I have ever done. Anna sent me a clear and simple brief, included some graphics, a list of content and let me get on with it. What she didn’t ask for was a ton of revisions, tweaks, changes, amendments etc. She loved the first draft so I built on that, and tada…it was done in less than a week. I am delighted to say, she absolutely LOVES it. A job well done and a very gratifying result. One happy designer and one happy client.
Oh, and a word about Anna Stassen. Anna creates the most beautiful artisan jewellery. Gorgeously delicate, marvelously chic and elegant and I have seen nothing like her work…ANYWHERE! Totally original. So, go and look at the lovely new site featuring her gorgeous work and her Etsy shop.
Thank you SO much it was such a pleasure and soooooo stress free and simple! (^_^)
I had put off having my website done for so long as I thought it would be a really long and stressful process, to which I feared I didn’t have the time to dedicate, but I couldn’t have been more wrong…it has been a pleasure every step of the way.
I feel like I have really benefited from your artistic eye as well and everything you have advised has been spot on because it’s so apparent in the end result!
Highly recommend you to anyone who wants a new website. Am so pleased with the result…exactly what I asked for: clean, simple, easy to use and everything under on roof! Can’t thank you enough.
Anna xx
Wow, Lorrie, you did an amazing job on her website; it’s simply beautiful! And beautifully simple!
I know exactly what you mean about the stress of working with clients and their visions, or lack of vision, as the case may be. I’ve dealt with both when painting custom cat portraits.
And I suppose I would fall into the latter category… sadly. I’ve always hesitated to get a designer involved in my website because I knew I’d be one of those problem clients (albeit unintentionally) … who doesn’t quite know what she wants, but has a very strong opinion about what she doesn’t like. LOL!
So my site will never be finished, as I’m constantly changing my mind, but at least it’s my own headache and not someone else’s.
I’m sure you have enough on your plate! 😉
