One of my favourite tracks ever, ‘Shot my Both Sides’ by Howard Devoto and Magazine. Great on stage, wired, frenetic, edgy and every thing a punk band should be. The track and album was released in 1978 the year I left school (and went to college). I saw the band live twice that year I think. Great times.
Jubilee year is bringing all this back to me, though this particular track was released the year after. For me 1977, the year of Queenies Silver Jubilee was about bad behaviour, punk music, jelly shoes, pins, spikey black hair, wearing my Dad’s shirts ripped up, going to loads, loads, loads of gigs, bad boys, beer, fierce make-up and more gigs.

Okay, now my curiosity is piqued! You must have photos of yourself in ripped shirts, spiked punk hair, and fierce make-up! You should do a Flash Back post about yourself. LOL 😉
Sadly I don’t. Photos of that era are in short supply, as we didn’t all have cameras, film and developing was expensive. I have a one or two put a way. I am planning to get them all out of the attic and scan some. If you check my facebook profile, there is an album on there called ‘Vintage’ with a few in. 😉
