Orla’s school topic for this term was ‘Pirates‘, and a lot of work has been put into homework etc, learning all about Pirates (by her and us). She has thoroughly enjoyed it, for lets be honest, what child doesn’t loves Pirates.
However, this week extra effort has been made as the homework was a ‘two week’ project, which saw us making a Pirate Chest, creating our own pirate character called ‘Pirate Captain Jesse Black‘, writing up a fact sheet all about our pirate, and most important of all, creating her costume for Pirate Day at school.
To be honest, she isn’t that well, and could really have done with a day at home. But, the first words from her lips upon waking this morning were ‘PIRATE DAAAAAY‘, so that was not to be thought of at all!!!
Below is the chest made by Orla and her Daddy, and included are some pics of two of her teachers, who I have to say, all outdid themselves.
The children’s costumes all were fabulous, though obviously I cannot post them here. I am sure they will all have an amazing day, and it was LOADS of fun to participate.
