Starting a new online arts and design magazine was an idea I had been mulling over for some time after I put Chichester Creative Network on hiatus. I wanted to continue to write about art, design, photography etc, but on a platform that wasn’t personal, e.g. my own blog, or strictly local, as was CCN. So, having approached Stina (who did the graphics by the way) with the idea, who was keen to be involved, ArtJunky.net was born.
Art Junky has been going now for a couple of weeks, and I am pleased to say has been pretty successful thus far. We have already gained a healthy Facebook and Twitter following, and gained a couple of REALLY good contributors. The first being, well known LA based multi media artist Elsa Mora and popular Swedish illustrator Patrik Boberg. Additionally, yesterday Janine Vangool of Uppercase magazine kindly featured Art Junky on the Uppercase blog. 🙂 Go HERE to read the interview.
So, what is it all about? Well, ArtJunky’s mandate is simple; ‘to give creatives of all ages, disciplines, emerging and established, a platform to showcase their work, profile new projects, design initiatives, techniques and tools of the trade’.
