Have you heard about the Twitter Art Exhibition? Founded four years ago by David Sandum, TAE is charity driven exhibition where international artists donate postcard sized artwork to be exhibited and sold, the proceeds going to an elected charity.
The first exhibition took place in Norway in 2010, and was organized to help the Moss public library raise funds for children’s books. Subsequent exhibitions took place in both Norway and LA, helping fund The Women’s Crisis Center in Moss, Norway and Art Division in LA. Art Division is a nonprofit organization that mentors underprivileged young adults (18-24) in the densely populated Rampart district of Los Angeles in preparation for careers in the visual arts.
The last exhibition was hugely successful, with 502 artists from 35 countries who sent 726 entries, raising $7,000 for Art Division (100% of the proceeds went to the organization).
I was unable to participate last year, but this year was determined to do so and is the first of my 2014 projects. I started work a couple of weeks ago, and created an ink drawing (Sakura micron pens) on reinforced Bristol board, incorporating line work and stippling, and featuring the popular sun face motif.
This years exhibition is taking place in Orlando, Florida, proceeds from the sale of the artworks will go to benefit The Center for Contemporary Dance, Special Needs Classes.

Lovely piece, Lorrie. The symmetry and detailing is superb!
Thanks Stina, I really appreciate that. It was drawn freehand, I only penciled in the circles. Came out better than I thought. Might do a small series of sun and moon illustrations.
I have seen yours, it looks fab, hope you have got it posted.
xx
Fantastic drawing, best I have seen in ages. Hope the exhibition is a great success.
