Focus: Favourite Blogs

Lemon Freckles

Just so you know, I am actually drawing and working, which is why I am not blogging as much. I am also spending time with my family, writing, working on Artjunky.net and doing lots of reading.

One of the things I love doing though, is reading blogs. So here is a quick roundup of a small selection of my current fave blogs which include both lifestyle and design. More to come….

Emma Gannon
Emma Gannon: Girl Lost in the City: Emma Gannon is a journalist and lifestyle blogger. Emma covers everything from fashion, books, culture, magazines and anything else that appeals to her. Her writing is informative, friendly and engaging, always a good read.

Uppercase magazine
Uppercase Magazine: I have been a subscriber to the magazine for the last three years and reading the blog for longer. Janine posts most days about everything from art, design and illustration, to quilting, typewriters, books and that which is creatively curious.

SFGirlbyBay: Victoria Smith
SFGirlByBay: Victoria Smith A lifestyle blog featuring inspirational photos, reviews, features and interviews by both Victoria and a team of contributors. Hugely popular, Victoria has finally moved from her beloved San Francisco to her own home in LA. Her blog was originally a chronicle of her home decor projects and grew from there.

Elsa Mora
Art is a Way: Elsa Mora Well, Elsa is a talented illustrator, paper cut artist, designer,  mentor, and also a good friend. Elsa’s blog not only features her own art, but that of other artists whose work both inspires and motivates. She is a wonderful inspiration and despite being very successful and enormously busy, always has time to give advice and feedback to those who ask her.

Lemon Freckles
Lemon Freckles: Toni Owers of Lemon Freckles is a talented Manchester based illustrator, living with her husband and two pugs. Her work is light, very colourful and contemporary. Toni sells from her Etsy Shop. Her blog reflects her work, both colourful, chatty and features not just her art, but family life also.

Great list! I can’t believe I hadn’t realised Uppercase had a blog too. I thought it was just an in-print zine!

      Thanks Stina…

The blog is good and updated regularly. I don’t comment as often as I used to as it’s on SquareSpace and to be honest is a ball ache to try and comment.
