White on Black + New Work + Turning a Corner

Flowers and Owl
As mentioned before (I think), 2014 was a very unproductive year for me creatively, for many reasons too boring to go into.

However, 2015 has been way better.  I have been working on lots of new projects, ideas and concepts. Plus which, I have made some significant sales of original art this year, which is always a blessing.

My art is now taking a (sort of) new turn and focus.  Whilst I know that it makes sense to stick to a tightly defined style and genre illustratively,  thereby creating a niche for oneself,  I feel that for me this would be almost impossible, as I enjoy expressing myself creatively using many different mediums, styles and motifs.  So, I will continue to do just that, though my work will still be easily ‘identifiable’.

As well as working on some fairly heavy duty pieces that are time consuming, I have also been trying to work more quickly, and produce simple linear pieces.  To that end, I have produced some illustrations rendered  in white acrylic ink on black card, which are also available in a section of my Art Shop called ‘Black and White‘  and am working on more.

I am very excited about what this year holds for me artistically, as I feel I am finally turning a corner and am keen to be in my studio. So, watch this space.

See you on the flip side..
