So, yesterday I think it was, maybe the day before, my buddy, the Polymer clay Queen, Lizzie of Clay Disarray, gave me the heads up about a newish UK based professional networking platform for creatives called Hiive.
This week Lizzie’s work had been featured on the front page (Yay Lizzie!). So, I thought I would give it a go, on the premise of ‘nothing ventured’ and all that, and given my plan to get myself out there a bit more this year. I created my account, wrote my profile, socials and uploaded some art work etc.
The site is very easy to manage and negotiate and has some very cool features. Their remit is to help creatives seek work within the industry, and I think they stand a good chance of doing that. You can upload your CV directly from LinkedIn etc, and create showreel embeds from Flickr, Dribble etc. All sorts of good stuff.
Anyway, last night on Twitter I spot a Hiive tweet that I am one of three creatives featured in their Editors Pics for this week. Very surprised, and very flattered. Again, validation from your peers is all to the good. Particularly for me, because I don’t produce the amount of work I used to due to being a Mum etc, and plus 2015 was a shocking year in terms of creativity. This is well covered ground, so won’t go there again.
Anyway, go check out HIIVE.
