Titled ‘Thorns’, this is an illustration in an A6 Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook. It’s inspired by the opening sequence of Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, a popular Korean Drama currently viewing on Netflix. KDramas are a guilty pleasure of mine, particularly those that combine folklore and a mix of the past within a contemporary setting.
Media inclusded Posca pens to create the colour and fill, and fineliners for the crosshatching. The panel composition was inspired by Manga illustration.
Thorns is going to be part of an ongoing theme for more sketchbook work.
