As you may have noticed, I haven’t been blogging much lately, and this is why. Two weeks ago Stina Jones and I launched a new project, an online art and design magazine called ArtJunky.net.
Read MoreAs a result of reading a lot more art publications lately, both online and hard copy, e.g, Ammo magazine, Inky Goodness etc, I was put in the way of another excellent art mag, created by artists for children (ostensibly) called Anorak Magazine. Impressed with the artwork, themes, layout, content, and at £6 each being very reasonably priced, I ordered three copies for Orla (and me natch!).
Read MoreFor those of you who have as yet not discovered the delights of Uppercase Magazine (and why not?), you are in for a treat. Uppercase magazine is a quarterly Art & Design journal for the ‘creatively curious’. I have been a fan for quite a while and have issues 8-13, and recently joined the ranks of subscribers. I was thrilled when I heard back quite quickly from Donaville Herrick, who asked if they could include my ‘For-get-me-not’ shot in a future feature in May, and I was naturally delighted. However, Donaville contacted me this week and told me they were using the shot for their ‘Favourite Things‘ feature and would be using another one of my photographic pieces in May. Yippppeee! Just the sort of good news one needs on grey and rainy days.
Read MoreThe other day (on Twitter I think), I come upon a rather smexy illustration magazine called Ammo. I was rather excited to discover it was UK based, and further excited by the fact that it was pretty cheaply priced and reasonable shipping (because, let’s face it, you are ALWAYS stiffed over the shipping). So, I order the back issue bundle, which got me issues 1-6 for £25. You can in fact order (from their online shop) whichever issues you like, but, given there are to date only seven issues it made sense to buy 1 to 6, so I will order issue 7 later.
