Jubilee Fever!

Jubilee Fair Cakes for the 'Bake Off'

The last two weeks have all been about preparing for the Jubilee Fair at Orla’s school. Last week we had to decorate her scooter for a parade (a joint effort by me and her Daddy), then yesterday was the school Jubilee Fair itself. Cakes had to be made for the ‘Bake Off’ (frantic baking the night before, though the decorating didn’t quite go to plan), Jubilee Jars decorated (more frantic work that morning), and a Jubilee Scarecrow made (though sadly that was a bridge too far for us) and lastly Jubilee coloured clothes for ‘Mufti’ day for Orla. Now, it has to be said, I am not a Royalist, most definitely not, nor is Luke…but you pretty much have to abandon your political convictions and ethos for your children when it comes to school fairs and the like, so, efforts were made. The day was blazingly hot, everyone worked really hard, all the cakes for the ‘Bake Off’ were fabulous, and we ate more than was good for us. Kudos to all the parents and staff and in particular Orla’s Head Teacher who wore full royal regalia in what was probably the hottest day of this year. It was lots of fun, and the fair was great…

Cupcake Love

Yesterday was my little girls 7th Birthday *beams*. Because her actual birthday party is next weekend, we decided to get individual cupcakes to celebrate rather than a full size birthday cake (which she will have at her party). My husband bought these home and they were SO amazing I had to take some shots (and I took nearly a 100). Literally, almost too pretty to eat (but we did anyway). If you want to see more then go look at the rest in my Facebook album ‘Colours, Textures, Patterns’. YUM!
