Pumpkin Fun at Slindon

Pumpkin Festival in Slindon

I love all those orange and yellow hues… I shot all of these images under heavy skies at the legendary Pumpkin Festival in Slindon, put on each year by the Upton family, continuing the tradition of Ralph Upton, the original ‘Pumpkin Man’. Sadly, this year due to the heavy rain they lost 90% of their crop, which not only affected business, but made it difficult to put on the usual fabulous display.  However, the community rallied around and donated pumpkins including a  fabulous wicker Pumpkin made by local artisans, Mark and Rebecca Ford of Two Circles Design. Despite there not being the usual majestic display, we still had a lovely time, and bought some gorgeous pumpkins and themed pottery from Slindon Pottery, all made by Janet Upton.  For more information about what goes on in lovely Slindon, visit the website or check out The Forge.

New Work + Old Influences

Random Practice: Old School

Here is a small selection of drawings influenced by, well….me. Random Practice: Old School Isograph pens and ink, Faber & Castell Pitt pens and Faber & Castell polychromos pencils on A5 heavy weight smooth cartride paper.
