Long Time No See + New Ceramic Thingies

15/10/2017

Hello old friends… It’s been a while I know, but I’ve decided to start posting again.  My ceramics course coming to an end mid summer was a bit of a blow. I was at a bit of a loss to know how to move forward. Then I came across talented ceramics sculptor, Annie Flitcross and we became friends.  I am now working out of her studio once a week, exploring the craft, learning new techniques etc. The best thing about working with other creatives in a dedicated space is the ability to be able to explore new techniques and styles. This means I can try new methods, new glazing techniques etc, and ultimately, bigger builds.. Here is a selection of some recent work. All available in my Art and Ceramics Boutique. Lorrie x More postings coming soon. 🙂

My New Ceramic Shop

13/04/2017

A few people have asked me over the last few months if I was going to sell any of my ceramic work, so I decided finally to start selling my ceramics pieces in my own art shop, now revamped and given a make-over. I will still be selling OOK pieces of original art there as well. At the moment I am selling mostly within the UK and Europe. I am happy to sell overseas, but if you want to buy something, please message me so I can calculate the postage. Here are a few of my better pieces, and if you are interested in buying, then head over to my new Art and Ceramics Boutique

Ceramics: New Work in Development

14/07/2016

I love the look of pottery when it’s ready to bisque, or has been and is ready for final firing. It always look so delicate and pale, just hinting at its promise… So, this is a selection of recent pinch pots I’ve made (and a little cylinder pot) in various stages of development. Some have been bisqued and ready for a glaze and final firing, and others ready for a bisque firing.

Ceramic Course – Weeks 10 to 21

Slip Cast 4

Rather than posting one item each week outlining in detail what I have been doing at my ceramics class, I decided to do a sort of big catch up. Much of the reason is, that after the slip casting class, it was less about learning new techniques and processes, and more about building and consolidating what we have learned thus far.  So, here is a photographic catch up of what I have been doing in the last ten weeks.

Ceramics Course – Week 8, 9 & 10

21/12/2015

So, this is a massively belated post I know, as my last class was now a couple of week ago, but given it’s Christmas, one can be forgiven as it’s a busy time. I decided to condense the last three classes of my course into one post because I was essentially just working on the one pot, which is the coil pot I featured in my last ceramic related post.  How can that be you ask? Well, that’s the thing, pottery and ceramics isn’t about speed and quick results,  everything takes time.
